Kedem Falls Again

Junior featherweight Eilon Kedem lost a majority decision in a six round bout, a result that was unpopular with the crowd, against Jose "Chilli" Rivera last night at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New York. Kedem was 121 pounds for the fight, outweighing Rivera by three pounds. The fight was originally scheduled for January 13, but was postponed because of snow.

The scores were 57-57, 58-56, 59-55 with the last two in Rivera's favor. Rivera started strong, but Kedem finished the fight with more fervor.

Kedem (11-5-4, 7 KOs) has now lost his last two bouts and three of his last four. The 26 year old has won just two fights in his last seven, going 2-4-1 in that span. Rivera improves his record to 3-2-1. Both men were coincidentally coming off of six round majority decision losses to Elton Dharry last year.

Kedem to Return

Eilon Kedem is scheduled to box on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New York. Kedem had been scheduled to fight last Thursday at the Roseland Ballroom on the Salita-Wayka undercard, but did not appear in the ring.

This would be the first fight for Kedem (11-4-4, 7 KOs) since losing a majority decision to Elton Dharry this past April. No opponent has been mentioned as of yet.

Kedem Has a Scheduled Opponent

Eilon Kedem will take on Jhovany Collado (2-6-2, one KO) at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, New York on December 16. The bout is scheduled for four rounds at super bantamweight.

Kedem (11-4-4, 7 KOs) has fought twice this year. He defeated Pedro Salcedo (3-3, 2 KOs) by unanimous decision in their six round bout this past March. The next month, he lost a majority decision in a four round fight to Elton Dharry (6-5-1, one KO). That loss also took place at the same location as his upcoming match. Kedem is 1-2 in his last three fights and is in need of a win to redirect his career.

He has the right scheduled opponent. Collado, who won the first two fights of his career, hasn't fought in over five years. The 31 year old hasn't won in ten years. Besides be significantly more active of late, Kedem also has the advantage of being five years younger and three inches taller.

Boyd Melson to Make His Debut

A noted amateur and U.S. military man, Boyd Melson, 29, is scheduled to make his professional debut on November 20, 2010 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York. Melson, who is a junior middleweight, will donate his entire purse to stem cell research. He is penciled in to fight Andrew Jones (0-1-1) in a four round bout.

Melson is also planning to fight on the Salita-Anchondo undercard on December 16, 2010 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, New York. Junior featherweight Eilon Kedem (11-4-4, 7 KOs) is scheduled to compete on the same card. Kedem is coming off of a loss back in April.

Kedem Comes Up Short

Eilon Kedem lost a majority decision to Elton Dharry in a six-round junior featherweight contest Thursday night at Roseland Ballroom in New York. Two judges scored the bout for Dharry, 59-55 and 59-54, while the third judge saw an even fight. Kedem weighed 120 pounds; Dharry came in at 121.

Kedem was coming off of a victory over Pedro Antonio Salcedo late last month. Dharry, who last fought in late March, gained his second straight win to rise to 4-5-1 with 1 KO. Kedem falls to 11-4-4 with 7 KOs.

Kedem Wins on Points

Eilon Kedem defeated Pedro Antonio Salcedo by unanimous decision earlier tonight. One judge had Kedem sweeping all six rounds, another gave Kedem five rounds, and the final judge counted four for Kedem. The boxer from Herzelia, Israel improves to 11-3-4 with 7 KOs. Salcedo falls to 3-3 with 2 KOs.

Kedem is still slated to fight in three weeks on April 15 at Roseland Ballroom in New York. He's scheduled to take on Elton Dharry (2-5-1, 0 KOs). Dharry, who has never won outside of his native Guyana, is suppose to fight tomorrow as well, so take this pairing with a grain of salt. For now, it'll be a six round bout at junior featherweight.

New Opponent for Kedem

Eilon Kedem won't be staring at his original opponent, Luis Angel Paneto, when he enters the ring tomorrow, March 25, at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey. Instead, Kedem's opponent is now scheduled to be Pedro Antonio Salcedo (3-2, 2 KOs).

This will be Salcedo's first fight outside of his native Puerto Rico. Kedem (10-3-4, 7 KOs) hopes to rebound from a knockout loss last November. Both fighters weighed in at 122 pounds. The junior featherweight bout is penciled in for six rounds.

Kedem to Fight Paneto

Eilon Kedem (10-3-4, 7 KOs) is scheduled to battle Luis Angel Paneto (5-7-2, 2 KOs) on March 25, 2010 at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Kedem is coming off of a loss against Eden Sonsona in Las Vegas last November. Sonsona has recently received some buzz for an 8th round knockout on the Pacquiao-Clottey undercard last Saturday.

Paneto's last four opponents were a combined 35-1 at the time he faced them. So, despite the losing record, Paneto is tested. He went 1-3 in those bouts, winning on a disqualification. He is coming off of a 1st round knockout loss in December.

Kedem Scheduled to Fight Sooner

Featherweight Eilon Kedem (10-3-4, 7 KOs) was originally penciled in to fight in April at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. However, an opportunity opened up to fight at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey on Thursday March 25, 2010. No word on Kedem's opponent for the Schuetzen Park date as of yet. Whether or not the 25 year old will fight three weeks later in New York is also unknown.

Kedem to Fight in April

Featherweight Eilon Kedem is scheduled to be back in the ring on April 15, 2010 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. Kedem (10-3-4, 7 KOs) is coming off of a loss last November against Eden Sonsona (20-5, 6 KOs) on the Pacquiao-Cotto undercard. There is no scheduled opponent as of yet.
